Lifetime Investment, well worth the price This knife has everything I hoped for to replace my ten year old cheap grocery store bread knife. In addition to being dishwasher safe, it has a much sturdier blade. This helps in two ways: first, it won t flex during use, which makes it safer. Great Knife buy! I was really surprised at the quality of this knife. I expected something cheaply mass produced to look hand made, but this knife actually is made to last! I have been "building" up my knife set instead of using my set and really love the quality of this knife. It is very high quality and the edge holds up very well. I use the honing steel on the knife before every use and after about 10 uses it is as sharp as the day I opened it. The wood handle looks very nice. Top quality knife :THE BEST chief knife I have ever used. The shape of the blade on this one makes cutting up vegetables an easy job. It s very sharp too. The handle is comfortable in the hand and the whole knife is perfectly balanced. The range of knives made by Global is extensive. I have just this one and a smaller flat-bladed one and I wouldn t consider buying any other knife now I have had these two in my kitchen.Nice and beautiful knife! You can tell from the packaging. High Quaility chef knife : I am respectful of it s sharp edge and handle it carefully. It is heavy so be careful not to drop it. This is an old and respected brand and I can say that I am very pleased with it. It is my first very high quality knife and it really does make a difference in ease of cutting whether it s large mellon type fruit, pineapples, chopping nuts or slicing vegetables and cutting raw or cooked meats. Really great knife loved it :So far - loving this knife! I am woefully short of sharp knives in my house and we grill meat all summer long. I was pretty excited to try out this meat on some steak. Cut through it just like butter .I ve also used to slice potatoes, which never fails to make my hands exhausted, and dice up herbs. Very nice cook knife. The material is premium, very sharp knife. I have used this knife for a couple days, I cut super thin beef, used it for hard carrots, onions, it all works well. It’s not heavy in weight, the handle is comfortable. As far as durability and maintenance of the sharp blade, we’ll have to see. Good knife and a great gift I got these to use in the kitchen, but my husband grabbed it up and has been using this knife, so there you are. It was nice while I had it, particularly when breaking down something like a chicken for cooking. It was fairly sharp and relatively large. I liked the finger hole to give me leverage, but my husband prefers to use the knife "regularly" without using the finger hole. The handle is comfortable to grip and use and the blade seems pretty sharp although I confess that I expected it to be a little sharper. Overall, I d say it was a very useful knife, well-made, and delivered in a gorgeous box that would make an excellent gift.6 years ago

I have a few expensive Chef s knives that I have collected over the past 50 years. Some of them cost close to $100 each. They are great, but have to be sharpened frequently. I was given this knife as a birthday present, and loved it so much I bought one for my sister. I have had my knife for about 11 months, and I have not had the need to use a steel to realign the molecules, nor have I had to sharpen it. This is one amazing knife. Just A Fantastic Knife :I m a very senior home cook and have owned most all brand name knifes over the years but this knife is the best i ve ever owned. Not only is it attractive and well balanced it cuts thru almost anything like soft butter. Have only had it for four months now but so far it s like brand new. Will update this review in the future if anything changes but right now I highly recommend it.
