Well, let me tell you if my dad likes one thing: it s a whole chicken broken down into eight pieces. Seriously a GREAT Knife! his knife with its weight distribution, solid handle and ease of handling can cut through so many things as though they were butter. I have used it extensively on slightly still frozen meats that again to my amazement slices right through them. I can then marinate the meat pieces while still slightly frozen. When cutting veggies and fruit the super breadth of the knife makes for ease of scooping and transferring either to your bowl or into the wok, pan or whatever you are using. Incredible value! Its also a "handsome" knife and seriously performs better than advertised!

I’m not a professional chef so much as an avid home cook. That said, I cook nearly everyday. I had been back and forth between this knife, Wustohf or Henckle. Living overseas in Japan I couldn’t find a place that carried this knife in order to actually put it in my hand, but the massive amount of amazing reviews sold me on it. I’ve used both of the other two I mentioned and they are great, but I just couldn’t justify the price tags when the reviews were so good for this one. Feels great in my hand and is well balanced. I’ve been using it very often for about three months now and with regular use of a steel it’s stayed super sharp. I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND this knife for anyone!!

Awesome knife This knife comes in a very nice box if you want to give it as a gift. It s a very long knife and could nearly slice a loaf lengthwise.It s very sharp so may be really good for slicing meat, My only issue is that it is so sharp that I m afraid to store it in a drawer without a case, so I will store it in the box, I don t want to reach in and slice my hand. Other than that, the knife is impressive, very sharp, very nice looking and would make a good gift.

Beautiful Knife for Precision Cutting :This is a great knife. A fantastic knife. My go to knife. I love it because I can cut my ingredients all the same size. Whether I need brunoise my celery, julienne my carrots or cube my meat, I get the accuracy. The blade is neither too thick or too thin, which I think is key. The knife is light enough that I can prep my ingredients quickly. I also get a good grip on the handle. I think it s a great price for the quality you get.

Super knife at this price :Nice grip, easy to hold even when wet. Makes tasks such as mashing garlic with the side of the blade much more convenient. Holds an edge better than any other knives I ve owned. It sliced tomatoes like butter and I felt very confident with the movement. Great knives can be purchased but you re looking at twice or three times the price of this.

Sharp and handsome knife Handsome knife in tooled leather holder. This knife is SHARP! My husband really enjoys using it for cutting meat, veggies etc, it works great. Probably one of the nicest knives for gifting. Just make sure once you’ve cleaned it you dry if off immediately then rub some oil on it. It has the tendency to rust if not.

Very sharp , be careful , great knife Out of the box this knife was really sharp and has some weight to it. You only have to use a little pressure and it cuts through. I ve used this to dice veges , garlic and ribs . This is my go to knife . I sometimes chop stuff like this tomatoes just because it feels good , lol, don t judge .

Overall I am very happy with my Chef Knife! I have to say that I am not a great cook but I need to use it everyday for housecook, which is certainly demanding, so in my experience I can say that the knife is really well balanced, it is a fancy knife, coming in an amazing box and looking very beautiful! Then, right out of the box it is incredibly sharp and it has been like this for the time I have had it! I mainly use it to cut vegetables such as onions, tomatoes, cucumbers, etc, and of course meat and chicken (no bones). Also, the weight is perfect as we can feel its quality and the handle is comfortable and ergonomic.

A knife with substance! :I was surprised to receive the knife early in the morning and, 3 days early! It came in a nice box well protected. I must agree with many reviewers that the knife if hefty! It has substance! It feels good in the hand and after washing this morning, I used it to prep items for breakfast! Very nice! Ridiculously sharp! Concerned about the metal strength as the edge seems a bit weak. Very attractive, nice weight and wicked sharp. I recommend this knife to anyone that likes a knife with substance!

Super sharp I was skeptical because of the price but I was wrong. Chefs knife can cut everything with it its so sharp goes thru everything so smooth. Do not use gor meats with bones will get chips and dings. But for that is imaraku cleaver no issues this this is a beast bones frozen meat anything you throw at it gets chopped.

Extremely Sharp with good handle:This is the first chef knife with pakkawood handle that I ve ever had. I looked up online what a pakkawood is before buying this, and pakkawood is handmade that makes for a strong and ultra-durable material. The knife handle looks quite vintage as it seems to be made of "real wood".The pakkawood is more durable but share the same look of real wood. I always focus on the durability of the blade and handle material of a knife as I want my knife can be used for dozens of years.would recommended.

sharp knife in professional quality: The knife sits very well in the hand, on the one hand by the shape and on the other by the grippy surface structure of the wood.It cuts very well and easily through everything I ve tested so far. For tomatoes it is perfect. The serrated blade runs right through the tomato. With peppers, you almost did not feel any resistance, but just “moved” the knife. With some vegetables (e.g. cauliflower), which I usually cut with my large twin knife, I found it very convenient that with its very sharp tip could be pierced and then cut slightly further. Since it was not a very large cauliflower, the blade length was enough for it.I will use it for some uses more than those for which such a serrated knife is often only used, as it has a convenient size, a suitable weight and a very comfortable position in the hand.

No Bolster increases efficiency I really like the fact that there is no bolster to this knife. Which increases the efficiency of the entire blade & in regards to future sharpening if necessary. The blade is the heavier point of this knife. Plenty of space is provided between the handle & blade. Finally, it fits well into both my hand & my room mates hand.

Very nicely weighted when held properly! Super happy with the knife. Very sturdy and sharp, cuts meat without any effort. Love it s good quality scabbard. Only disappointment I received was that one of the handle s rivet is set at an angle improperly but it s holding well so far. For the price at the time I paid , can t be beat.

Are you looking for a big knife, this is it. Seriously this is a fun knife to use. I was looking for a big heavy tough chopper. This is a big heavy tough chopper. It holds a blade well enough. It has a really good weight and it is thick. The handle is wood and feels nice in your hand. I have several knives in the kitchen, but I wanted something that could take brutal force. This knife is one of my favorites now. It comes with a sheath, I honestly haven t used it yet. I just hang it on the magnetic strip. I like this knife so well I have used it to spread butter and jam. It is not designed for this task but I enjoy its heft so much I made it work. Seriously this is a fun knife to use.

Sharp and easy to clean :This is a sharp knife, be careful with it till you get used to the sharpness, unlike my old knife this one cuts on contact (could be your finger). Stays sharp, cleans up easy, and is now used for almost all cutting tasks in the kitchen. Sharp (ouch) We really like this knife. Seriously though it’s pretty sharp and the wife and I have both cut ourselves while slicing bagels (because we hold the bagels like idiots). Put the bagel down Karen and use a cutting board because just one touch cuts your finger open. Oh and the handle fits in well with our other black handles knives.

Amazing knife. Pro material Great knife. It’s become my go-to for separating chickens and cutting root vegetables. I’ve only used it a couple times on other things, but I try to keep my knives separated by task so I can rely on them better. It’s nice because the back of the knife is so tall that often, it stays above what I’m cutting, so it stays nice and clean and easy to control. The sheath is very nice. It fits perfectly in the leather sheath and you can fold the clasp away so you don’t accidentally cut it off.All that said, I love this knife and it is now one of my primary knives for tough root vegetables and butcher work.

Been looking for knives to replace some old, full tang, wooden handle knives that were sharpened so much, they were super thin and the edge was destroyed. I tried many cheaper knives and was super disappointed, whether steel or ceramic. I tried this chef knife based upon reviews and reduced price at the time. These knives have great balance with full tang. Solid delrin handle is sturdy and fits my hand well. Knives arrived very sharp and seem to be maintaining their edge just fine. We were so impressed, we purchased 5 more mercer knives. Very happy with purchase.

Fantastic for the price Fantastic knife! Good weight. Nice handling. Very sharp and keeps a good edge so far. I have not honed or sharpened it yet. I keep a brush with oil on hand to lightly brush it with oil to keep it from rusting. Sure to last as far as I can see. It s leather sheath is very durable. The only small problem with the sheath is that the knife catches a bit on the snap that it has when drawing it. So far the best cleaver I have used. Well worth every penny. It is not warped and has not cracked as shown in other reviews.

Knife is well made, looks nice and accurate. It is easy to maintain and holds sharpening pretty well. I’ve Zwilling Professional S knifes and it is very competitive for a fraction of a price. As far as utility knife goes, Zwilling has a wider blade. But it is really the almost only way that I can differentiate them. The design, quality, feeling are interchangeable. They hold age about the same time. It is possible that Zwilling is a little harder, at least I’ve to put more pressure honing.

Overall this knife is not bad for the price. It does come in a nice gift box.. It is definitely sharp at first, but after a couple weeks of use, I had to sharpen it. Ever since then I sharpen pretty often. Also, the tip is very thin. Mine chipped after weeks of use. With that said, it’s not not a bad knife! But it’s not a chefs knife. If you’re looking for a professional knife that will last, I would look elsewhere.

Great Knife for the $$$ Very happy with this purchase. The knife is light weight, very sharp out-of-the-box and easy to handle. For the price the quality is outstanding. It is also well balanced. I sometimes have trouble with some knives because I have tendinitis in my wrist. This knife doesn’t hurt my wrist and I’m able to use it for extended periods of time without pain or fatigue.

It is super versatile, you can cut meat, chicken, vegetables, fruits, etc. It really deserves the classification "Cook s Knife".The edge hasn t lost any of its sharpness and we use it heavily every day. Very durable with nice box : This chef knife is awesome. The case and the ascetic appeal of it are off the charts. It was so nice I am planning to keep the box around afterward to store it. The knife is fairly sharp. It also comes with instructions on how to maintain it so it s nice for novices. All and all, a good knife for a beginner chef on a budget .I like the box that the knife comes in. I store the knife back in the box after I clean and dry it. I use it mainly for cutting fruits and veggies. Occasionally I may use it to cut chicken or turkey. It s super strong and durable. It s also pretty heavy and made of some tough material. Awesome knife I love this knife, this is my go to knife when I cook. It has a great feel in my hand and is a super sharp knife. It is a large knife and can be intimidating, but once you start using it you can t put it down.

We’ve used it on the Ironwood cutting board, to debone meat, slice/dice veggies, great for slicing through a watermelon, cantaloupe, etc., and for cutting whole chickens for frying. Great value for the money; just be careful...this knife is super sharp, but one of the best purchases we’ve make in cutlery. My wife loves this knife

Very sharp , be careful , great knife Out of the box this knife was really sharp and has some weight to it. You only have to use a little pressure and it cuts through. I ve used this to dice veges , garlic and ribs . This is my #1 go to knife . I sometimes chop stuff like this tomatoes just because it feels good , lol, don t judge .

This is a real knife and feels great in the hand, very sharp. as a razor blade, I sliced tomato with this thing a 1/8 in thick. I Would buy it again. A good buy from Almazan Knives.
