An Amazing Knife! This knife is a heavy cleaver that comes very sharp out of the box and cuts like crazy! Awesome value Super sharp, full Tang. My knife skills stink, however this knife makes it easy. Comfortable in the hand- well balanced. I have used it on bison, beef, pork, bacon, apples, kiwi, tomatoes,even grapes! You just have to remember to wash & dry it right away. I treat it just like my cast iron, oiling after a wash. Great quality, well-designed chef knife:When I opened the box, I was immediately pleased by the design. The wood handle is beautifully crafted and feels great in the hand. At this price-point, I wouldn t have been shocked to find some imperfections in the look and feel, but it appears that it was well made. I am very impressed by the look and feel, it easily rivals my much more expensive knives.The blade is a very nice size and shape. It came very sharp, right out of the box. I was able to use it to chop vegetables immediately and it just slides through anything I put it up against. The thinness of the blade make it effortless to chop, and the slight curve makes it easy to rock back and forth for a great fluid motion. It is very well balanced and the handle design lends itself very well to its intended purpose. It appears that a lot of thought was given to the design, and pairing that with solid craftsmanship built a solid knife.It s a great addition to our kitchen and we find ourselves using it more than any other knife now. Seriously a GREAT Knife! I have used it extensively on slightly still frozen meats that again to my amazement slices right through them. I can then marinate the meat pieces while still slightly frozen. When cutting veggies and fruit the super breadth of the knife makes for ease of scooping and transferring either to your bowl or into the wok, pan or whatever you are using. Incredible value! Superior knife, quality far beyond its price. This thing is a beast. I am no professional chef, but I am a longtime woodsman and Bushcrafter. I have taken this on a couple of trips, and it has evolved into my go-to knife. I simply love that it can do very well at the butcher block, but yesterday hold up to the random needs I may have in the bush. Why carry two knives? The very well processed knife of good impression visually, when you first grasp, you are consciously balanced and well the knife literally puts itself in your hand. The processed blade special steel as well as the pakkawood are very well processed and have no defects or production residues.Really sharp. I would not advise for your day to day cook. You need some experience in handling cutlery to properly handle this cleaver. I really like. I cut my finger just getting it out of the box but that was my fault (I survived). I also would recommend that the non-cutting edges be rounded or protected from accidental cuts. Also, be careful when cleaning as the blade is extremely sharp!4 years ago

This made my dad and I closer My dad came over for dinner for the first time. I showed him this new knife and he said it was pretty cool, but how s it cut. Well let me tell you if there s one thing my dad likes, it s a whole chicken broken down into eight pieces. This knife cut through it with no problem, and my dad giggled with delight when I playfully tossed the wishbone at him. He said that was nice, but what about the veggies? Well let me tell you again, this baby let me chop up six carrots in about a minute, then I scooped them upright onto the blade and moved them to the pot. This is a great knife at the price point. I have knives far more expensive than this, but this will be the best knife most people have in their kitchen. It is balanced well, sharp out of the box, and it has a full tang leading to a nice weight. I have not sharpened it yet, so more to follow there, I will update my review at that point. Heavy Duty wanted a butcher knife similar to what she uses, this knife met that criteria. When it arrived the first thing I noticed is that it s heavy, it s definitely sharp, and the price was right. Worth it This is a really nice knife! Really good quality. When washing it I was reading reviews about rust and it’s not a problem as long as you wash it by hand and not a dish washer and actually dry it off. An amazing blade that can do just about everything. I must say this is a great knife! The full tang and heavy spine gives it the cutting power of a full butcher knife. Its heavy but balanced which plays well when you need intricate cuts. The curve of the spine to the point gives it the finesse of a chefs knife. In no way does this knife replace every knife in the kitchen but with the amazing leather sheath mean you can take this and only this in the back country and do everything from dress an animal to cut veggies to cook with it. This knife is sharp! I didn’t touch it up at all and it glides through food. I bought a separate guard for it to keep the edge safe in our drawer. The fit and finish is perfect. There are no gaps around the scales, the rivets are ground smooth and flush, the spine of the blade is slightly rounded and smooth. Been using it for a month and it’s still sharp. I’m very impressed coming from a Giada chef knife I’ve been using for the last 10 years that needed frequent sharpening/touch ups.6 years ago
