I’m not a professional chef so much as an avid home cook. That said, I cook nearly everyday. I had been back and forth between this knife, Wustohf or Henckle. Living overseas in Japan I couldn’t find a place that carried this knife in order to actually put it in my hand, but the massive amount of amazing reviews sold me on it. I’ve used both of the other two I mentioned and they are great, but I just couldn’t justify the price tags when the reviews were so good for this one. Feels great in my hand and is well balanced. I’ve been using it very often for about three months now and with regular use of a steel it’s stayed super sharp. I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND this knife for anyone!!1 year ago

Beautiful Knife for Precision Cutting :This is a great knife. A fantastic knife. My go to knife. I love it because I can cut my ingredients all the same size. Whether I need brunoise my celery, julienne my carrots or cube my meat, I get the accuracy. The blade is neither too thick or too thin, which I think is key. Sharp and handsome knife Handsome knife in tooled leather holder. This knife is SHARP! My husband really enjoys using it for cutting meat, veggies etc, it works great. Probably one of the nicest knives for gifting. Just make sure once you’ve cleaned it you dry if off immediately then rub some oil on it. It has the tendency to rust if not.2 years ago

Overall I am very happy with my Chef Knife! I have to say that I am not a great cook but I need to use it everyday for housecook, which is certainly demanding, so in my experience I can say that the knife is really well balanced, it is a fancy knife, coming in an amazing box and looking very beautiful! Then, right out of the box it is incredibly sharp and it has been like this for the time I have had it! I mainly use it to cut vegetables such as onions, tomatoes, cucumbers, etc, and of course meat and chicken (no bones). A knife with substance! :I was surprised to receive the knife early in the morning and, 3 days early! It came in a nice box well protected. I must agree with many reviewers that the knife if hefty! It has substance! It feels good in the hand and after washing this morning, I used it to prep items for breakfast! Very nice! Ridiculously sharp! Extremely Sharp with good handle:This is the first chef knife with pakkawood handle that I ve ever had. I looked up online what a pakkawood is before buying this, and pakkawood is handmade that makes for a strong and ultra-durable material. The knife handle looks quite vintage as it seems to be made of "real wood".The pakkawood is more durable but share the same look of real wood. No Bolster increases efficiency I really like the fact that there is no bolster to this knife. Which increases the efficiency of the entire blade & in regards to future sharpening if necessary. The blade is the heavier point of this knife. Plenty of space is provided between the handle & blade. Finally, it fits well into both my hand & my room mates hand.3 years ago

It has a really good weight and it is thick. The handle is wood and feels nice in your hand. I have several knives in the kitchen, but I wanted something that could take brutal force. This knife is one of my favorites now. It comes with a sheath, I honestly haven t used it yet. I just hang it on the magnetic strip. I like this knife so well I have used it to spread butter and jam. Sharp and easy to clean :This is a sharp knife, be careful with it till you get used to the sharpness, unlike my old knife this one cuts on contact (could be your finger). Stays sharp, cleans up easy, and is now used for almost all cutting tasks in the kitchen. Sharp (ouch) We really like this knife. Seriously though it’s pretty sharp and the wife and I have both cut ourselves while slicing bagels (because we hold the bagels like idiots). Fantastic for the price Fantastic knife! Good weight. Nice handling. Very sharp and keeps a good edge so far. I have not honed or sharpened it yet. I keep a brush with oil on hand to lightly brush it with oil to keep it from rusting. Sure to last as far as I can see. It s leather sheath is very durable. The only small problem with the sheath is that the knife catches a bit on the snap that it has when drawing it. So far the best cleaver I have used. Well worth every penny. Overall this knife is not bad for the price. It does come in a nice gift box.. It is definitely sharp at first, but after a couple weeks of use, I had to sharpen it. Ever since then I sharpen pretty often. Also, the tip is very thin. Mine chipped after weeks of use. With that said, it’s not not a bad knife! But it’s not a chefs knife. It is super versatile, you can cut meat, chicken, vegetables, fruits, etc. It really deserves the classification "Cook s Knife".The edge hasn t lost any of its sharpness and we use it heavily every day. It is very sharp so you need to be careful when using it.
