Fantastic for the price Fantastic knife! Good weight. Nice handling. Very sharp and keeps a good edge so far. I have not honed or sharpened it yet. I keep a brush with oil on hand to lightly brush it with oil to keep it from rusting. Sure to last as far as I can see. It s leather sheath is very durable. Seriously a GREAT Knife! I have used it extensively on slightly still frozen meats that again to my amazement slices right through them. I can then marinate the meat pieces while still slightly frozen. When cutting veggies and fruit the super breadth of the knife makes for ease of scooping and transferring either to your bowl or into the wok, pan or whatever you are using. Incredible value! Great everday knife for kitchen I ve used this knife on multiple items so far. It cut raw chicken & meats very easily for me. There was no sawing required like some of my other knives. The size is perfect to make it a versatile tool in the kitchen. The knife is hand washed and dried. I have had no issues with this knife and it seems like it will be a sturdy knife for everyday use. An amazing blade that can do just about everything. I must say this is a great knife! The full tang and heavy spine give it the cutting power of a full butcher knife. It s heavy but balanced which plays well when you need intricate cuts. The curve of the spine to the point gives it the finesse of a chef s knife. In no way does this knife replace every knife in the kitchen but the amazing leather and sheath mean you can take this and only this in the backcountry and do everything from dress an animal to cut veggies to cook with it. Superior knife, quality far beyond its price. This thing is a beast. I am no professional chef, but I am a longtime woodsman and Bushcrafter. I have taken this on a couple of trips, and it has evolved into my go-to knife. I simply love that it can do very well at the butcher block, but yesterday hold up to the random needs I may have in the bush. Why carry two knives? Wow - What A Knife! I ve never had a chef s knife before and this seems like a very good one. It s well balanced and feels good in the hand. The handle is made of wood and feels very comfortable as you hold it. It comes in a nice presentation box and it has a slip-on guard that covers the entire sharp edge. I assumed the hammered design on the sides was simply for looks, but it also serves to shed the cut food as you cut through thicker things - a nice touch. The blade is made of carbon steel, a preferred material for knives. The proof is in the cutting, of course, and I first tested it by slicing through a sheet of paper as I held it and it made nice clean cuts. Then I progressed to steaks, onions, and cucumbers. It made quick work of them. The blade is very sharp and the weight works for chopping as well as slicing. I ll be using this one frequently for a long time.2 years ago

Knife is well made, looks nice and accurate. It is easy to maintain and holds sharpening pretty well. I’ve Zwilling Professional S knifes and it is very competitive for a fraction of a price. As far as utility knife goes, Zwilling has a wider blade. But it is really the almost only way that I can differentiate them. The design, quality, feeling are interchangeable. They hold age about the same time. It is possible that Zwilling is a little harder, at least I’ve to put more pressure honing.2 years ago

It is balanced well, sharp out of the box, and it has a full tang leading to a nice weight. I have not sharpened it yet, so more to follow there, I will update my review at that point. I have been "building" up my knife set instead of using my set and really love the quality of this knife. It is very high quality and the edge holds up very well. I use the honing steel on the knife before every use and after about 10 uses it is as sharp as the day I opened it. The wood handle looks very nice. I m completely impressed by this knife. I wasn t sure what to expect because of the modest price but was pleasantly surprised. The knife feels great in the hand and has very good balance. Very good quality and razor sharp right out of the box. I use it as a chef s knife so I m not hacking bones with it but it slices beautifully and easily. I was shocked at how nice this chef s knife is based on it s cost. It is perfectly balanced, the handle is made of a luxurious and finely finished wood that is beautiful and it cuts like a champ. I have owned much more expensive knives that were not as balanced in the hand, not as well finished and didn t come with a beautiful handle. I would recommend this to anyone on a budget who appreciates quality. Beats the low end JA Henckels and Whustoffs by a mile. I don t know how they produce such a nice piece for so little money. Wow. First of all, the presentation alone makes this knife look 3x more expensive than it really is. It showed up in a sleek black box with a vibrant red moulding inside. I was very impressed when I saw this as I ve ordered knives online before and they just show up in a plastic case. So the knife itself is beautiful. It has a handsome wood handle and is super lightweight. Right out of the box, I began prepping dinner for that night. The way it sliced through chicken was impressive with no effort on my part whatsoever. It s very comfortable to hold and easy to clean. This knife is great. It looks beautiful and I can 100% confirm is hella sharp. I was able to test this theory in less than 10 minutes by almost slicing half of my finger off while cutting an onion. This knife went through the layers of that onion as fast as college withered my soul back in 2012. I would definitely recommend this knife to anyone who has any basic skill with knives; BUT if you re the kind of person whose mother preferred to clean the chinaware all by herself before letting you hold one of her plates, you may be MY kind of person and you should get one of those gloves that protect fingers and stuff before using this obviously quality made blade.2 years ago

Do I recommend this product? Overall, this knife makes me look like a chef. I don’t have much use for the leather case ( not sure if it’s real) unless I’m going to be carrying around with me wherever I go ( pretty sure can’t do that). Top quality knife :THE BEST chief knife I have ever used. The shape of the blade on this one makes cutting up vegetables an easy job. It s very sharp too. The handle is comfortable in the hand and the whole knife is perfectly balanced. The range of knives made by Global is extensive. Really nice knife : This is the chef knife that I ordered. Being a professionally trained chef, I am finicky about my knives. For this price point, I don’t think you are going to find a more well-balanced and accurate piece of cutlery. Keeps and edge very well, and I really do love it, and am loving this overall! Blade is as sharp as sharp can be. Balance is outstanding. Handle is beauteous. If only it came with the same quality sheath. Sharp (ouch) We really like this bread knife, it slices through bread like a serrated knife through cooked dough products. Seriously though it’s pretty sharp and the wife and I have both cut ourselves while slicing bagels (because we hold the bagels like idiots). Heavy Duty wanted a butcher knife similar to what she uses, this knife met that criteria. When it arrived the first thing I noticed is that it s heavy, it s definitely sharp, and the price was right. Long lasting blade and great sharpness:Bought this a gift for a friend. Heard from her brother that it carved the turkey quite nicely over Thanksgiving and see was looking forward to using it on the Christmas ham. She loves it and that s really all that matters to me. The very well processed knife of good impression visually, when you first grasp, you are consciously balanced and well the knife literally puts itself in your hand. The processed blade special steel as well as the pakkawood are very well processed and have no defects or production residues.Really sharp. I would not advise for your day to day cook. You need some experience in handling cutlery to properly handle this cleaver. I really like. I cut my finger just getting it out of the box but that was my fault (I survived). Impressive value for a quality knifeI purchased this for my man who is a chef. As some of you may know, chefs are very particular about their knives, and even though he wasn t looking for the best knife out there, it had to fit a number of must-haves . it had to have a wood handle, it had to be made of Good Steel, and it had to be simple in perfect design. I m happy to say that the chef knife exceeded his expectations! The packaging was really well done and extra consideration was made to keep the blade safe and secure. A handy wipe cloth was also provided in the box, though I am told chefs don t really use it. General comments from the chef is that the knife itself is well balanced and well-made, the blade is extremely sharp and has held its edge over the past month while being used daily, and the handle is surprisingly really comfortable. Worth it This is a really nice knife! Really good quality. When washing it I was reading reviews about rust and it’s not a problem as long as you wash it by hand and not a dish washer and actually dry it off. Very Heavy Duty Knife! This is a very heavy-duty knife! The blade has a good depth and thickness. The length is very nice, and allows me to cut odd shaped loaves, such as a round loaf of sourdough bread. The serrated blade cuts well. The grip is large enough to fit well into a large hand such as mine and feels solid. It is not one of those cheaply-made hollow handle knives. Very sharp! More heavy duty than needed for general cutting and chopping for cooking stir frys, frittatas, and such but the wide blade makes it easy to scoop up what you just cut up.
