Seriously a GREAT Knife! I have used it extensively on slightly still frozen meats that again to my amazement slices right through them. I can then marinate the meat pieces while still slightly frozen. When cutting veggies and fruit the super breadth of the knife makes for ease of scooping and transferring either to your bowl or into the wok, pan or whatever you are using. Incredible value! Great everday knife for kitchen I ve used this knife on multiple items so far. It cut raw chicken & meats very easily for me. There was no sawing required like some of my other knives. The size is perfect to make it a versatile tool in the kitchen. The knife is hand washed and dried. I have had no issues with this knife and it seems like it will be a sturdy knife for everyday use. Superior knife, quality far beyond its price. This thing is a beast. I am no professional chef, but I am a longtime woodsman and Bushcrafter. I have taken this on a couple of trips, and it has evolved into my go-to knife. I simply love that it can do very well at the butcher block, but yesterday hold up to the random needs I may have in the bush. Why carry two knives? I m completely impressed by this knife. I wasn t sure what to expect because of the modest price but was pleasantly surprised. The knife feels great in the hand and has very good balance. Very good quality and razor sharp right out of the box. I use it as a chef s knife so I m not hacking bones with it but it slices beautifully and easily. Really nice knife : This is the chef knife that I ordered. Being a professionally trained chef, I am finicky about my knives. For this price point, I don’t think you are going to find a more well-balanced and accurate piece of cutlery. Keeps and edge very well, and I really do love it, and am loving this overall! The very well processed knife of good impression visually, when you first grasp, you are consciously balanced and well the knife literally puts itself in your hand. The processed blade special steel as well as the pakkawood are very well processed and have no defects or production residues.Really sharp. I would not advise for your day to day cook. You need some experience in handling cutlery to properly handle this cleaver. I really like. I cut my finger just getting it out of the box but that was my fault (I survived). I also would recommend that the non-cutting edges be rounded or protected from accidental cuts. Also, be careful when cleaning as the blade is extremely sharp!2 years ago

This made my dad and I closer My dad came over for dinner for the first time. I showed him this new knife and he said it was pretty cool, but how s it cut. Well let me tell you if there s one thing my dad likes, it s a whole chicken broken down into eight pieces. Worth it This is a really nice knife! Really good quality. When washing it I was reading reviews about rust and it’s not a problem as long as you wash it by hand and not a dish washer and actually dry it off. Very Heavy Duty Knife! This is a very heavy-duty knife! The blade has a good depth and thickness. The length is very nice, and allows me to cut odd shaped loaves, such as a round loaf of sourdough bread. The serrated blade cuts well. The grip is large enough to fit well into a large hand such as mine and feels solid. It is not one of those cheaply-made hollow handle knives. An amazing blade that can do just about everything. I must say this is a great knife! The full tang and heavy spine gives it the cutting power of a full butcher knife. Its heavy but balanced which plays well when you need intricate cuts. The curve of the spine to the point gives it the finesse of a chefs knife. In no way does this knife replace every knife in the kitchen but with the amazing leather sheath mean you can take this and only this in the back country and do everything from dress an animal to cut veggies to cook with it. Excellent Multi-Purpose Clever Primary uses for the item are butchery of meat. Also, extremely handy all-purpose chopper, any chef who knows their way around a kitchen or product in question will know that this heavy blade has a myriad of uses. The sheath is also a nice touch, so it can also be serviced as an outdoor/bbq/meal prep clever. This knife is sharp! I didn’t touch it up at all and it glides through food. I bought a separate guard for it to keep the edge safe in our drawer. The fit and finish is perfect. There are no gaps around the scales, the rivets are ground smooth and flush, the spine of the blade is slightly rounded and smooth. Been using it for a month and it’s still sharp. I’m very impressed coming from a Giada chef knife I’ve been using for the last 10 years that needed frequent sharpening/touch ups.4 years ago

I have never used a knife that slides through everything with such ease. I went to slice open the plastic packaging for the sausages I was cooking, and I thought I had missed the plastic - it was that smooth. I barely had to apply any pressure when slicing up the sausages. Cutting up the carrots, cauliflower, and apples was amazingly easy, as well. That knife This is a beautiful knife and it comes in a very nice presentation box with a tip protector. I think pakka wood is some sort of laminated wood but whatever it is, it looks good. Fantastic for the price Fantastic knife! Good weight. Nice handling. Very sharp and keeps a good edge so far. I have not honed or sharpened it yet. I keep a brush with oil on hand to lightly brush it with oil to keep it from rusting. Sure to last as far as I can see. It s leather sheath is very durable. The only small problem with the sheath is that the knife catches a bit on the snap that it has when drawing it. So far the best cleaver I have used. Well worth every penny. Nice looking knife. Has a nice balance to it and feels good when I m chopping vegetables. But notice the knife started to chip away after a few months of use. It s become dull quickly after the first week of being used. Can barely cut any meats anymore. Sharpening could help, but hate to see the knife already being chipped.5 years ago

The handle is gorgeous and ergonomic, though "pakkawood" simply seems to be laminated acrylic impregnated wood I bought as I prefer to have a chefs knife and this one very much fits the bill. This is the sharpest knife I have ever used The knife will be sitting safely in its box only coming out for some boutique work. Why? quite honestly - and as a seasoned cook who makes 90+% of my food at home, this knife is a razor on wheels. I dropped an orange on it from 2 feet and it split in two, a great parlor trick but again, be aware... Well balanced knife and i will use it but with an abundance of caution.7 years ago

Fantastic knife This knife is well designed and fits your hand very well. It has a very sharp blade. I was cutting an old slightly wrinkled green pepper and it felt like it was rubbery and the knife went right though it with no problem at all. I really liked the form of the handle. It fit right in my hand and didn t feel like a block in my hand.7 years ago

Excellent blade! Bought this for my son for Christmas and he loves it! He is an outdoorsman, and he cooks a lot of food over an open fire and he was stoked to give this blade a go at the fireside. He liked the full tongue craftsmanship and the solid handle. I highly recommend this blade.7 years ago

The sheath is also a nice touch, so it can also be serviced as an outdoor/bbq/meal prep clever. Edge is holding up fine, however I would say this would require a grinder to effectively sharpen.7 years ago

Forging Serbian Chef knife is an Excellent Addition to your Kitchen This knife is EXTREMELY sharp, with excellent craftsmanship. We’ve used it on the Ironwood cutting board, to debone the meat, and slice/dice veggies, great for slicing through a watermelon, cantaloupe, etc., and for cutting whole chickens for frying.
